這文章讓我回想到一件事…在我能夠打開月之門到不列顛尼亞世界前，有個看起
來像動物保育者的NPC ，在目擊勇者屠殺GAME世界裡的非人類生物後問我有什麼
感覺。我回：「那是怪物不是嗎？」 NPC說：『怪物？！「極惡非道的生物」之
意』『可是被勇者宰掉的那隻生物什麼也沒有做…多可憐啊。反倒是勇者這種大
肆屠殺其他生物只為增加自己等級的行為才是恐怖的惡行！』的確，仔細思考的
話…為何玩家可以在遊戲裡面殺其他的怪物角色而不考慮道德不道德的問題？創
世紀四，那個初次嘗試把道德觀帶入遊戲世界的GAME是這麼做的：殺非邪惡的自
然生物如蛇、海馬、老鼠、蜘蛛、蟲子會降低憐憫的隱藏數值，然後就沒辦法完
成憐憫美德的任務。為何自然生物的主動攻擊會被設定為非邪惡呢？我猜想該不
會因為那是肚子餓找東西吃而不是懷有惡意來攻擊？
在ULTIMA ONLINE裡，我會常跑去despise地城二樓宰蜥蜴人，用火牆排列的方法
殺掉很多…不過有時會有不太舒服的感覺冒出來，因為我良心開始在CALL，『這
樣子大屠殺所做的就是背叛憐憫的鄙視，妳做的不正是鄙視蜥蜴人的生存權嗎？
這裡是牠們的家，妳來這裡放火殺人越貨？』摸著那個會冒出：「你心靈感到一
陣平和的氣息」說明的聖符，就會想說不要燒殺了…也該忘掉我和坐騎死在這裡
好幾次的回憶。雖然那個善常被貪婪和些許憤怒蓋過…但我該慶幸它還會出聲？
在沒有遊戲機制可以強力規範的情況下，正好是表現個人自律道德水準的時機吧
…雖然已經有憐憫騎士的名號，我果然還不算個名符其實的憐憫實踐者，以自己
良心的評價。
