阿利斯塔克 (Aristarchus of Samos)(c. 310 -c. 250 BC)

希臘天文學家，是第一個主張地球環繞太陽運行的人，但他的主張只記載於亞基米德 (Archimedes) 的著作中。在他唯一留傳後世的著作《On the Dimensions and Distances of the Sun and Moon》裡，他論述了如何估量太陽和月亮跟地球間的相對距離，但由於缺乏精密的儀器而得不到正確的結果。
